Connecting With Your Spirit

Yes! You have been searching for so long to connect with your Spirit. Now is the time.

You know it’s YOUR time to start your journey, to start something new, to finally connect with Spirit. Trust the magic of new beginnings, trust yourself and your inner knowing. You are ready to step into this new beginning.

Searching for the real meaning in life and knowing that ‘there is something else out there’,  is a common feeling among many of us at this moment on the planet. Mother Earth is raising its vibration and we no longer wish to remain stuck in old thought patterns and old ways of living.

Time and space are changing, so are we!

Do you feel there’s something missing?

I always felt there was something more to life, but I couldn’t describe or ‘get’ it. It was a deep feeling inside me, resonating in my heart and pushing me to look for ‘more’; to look further away and at the same time, look within myself.

After many years of studying, learning, searching and asking I had an ‘A-ha’ moment. Finally! Yes! It was my spirit that I was looking for! I was longing to connect with it, to dive deep into its Wisdom, Love and Guidance. I’ve got it! That “A-ha” moment was not the end of my search – it was a new beginning.

New questions arose. How do I connect with my spirit? How can I listen to it? Can my spirit give me the answers I’m looking for? All the answers to these questions are YES if I learn to connect, listen and understand my spirit’s messages. Beginning with YES!

How can YOU connect with your spirit?

So, what did I do to connect with my spirit, my soul, my Higher Self?

I’d like to share a few simple but powerful first steps so you can begin your journey:

  1. Meditate. Sit quietly, breathe deeply and focus on your breath going in and out. Let your thoughts come (they will come!); just stay focused on your breath; do not pay attention to your thoughts and do not ‘fight’ them. Slowly and with time, they will ‘disappear’. The energy charge you unconsciously put on them will gently become weaker and weaker
  2. Call upon the Power of Light/of God/the Universe (use the word that feels most comfortable for you) whenever you find yourself in a stressful situation or in need of guidance or assistance with a decision. See yourself bathing in this Light, inside and out. Take a deep breath and bring this Light into your heart. Make this a daily practice!
  3. Start trusting your intuition. Your spirit speaks to you through your gut feelings, that we often tend to ignore. Trust. Follow your inner guidance. At least try and see what happens!
  4. Learn to love yourself more. Be grateful for what you have, instead of focusing on what you want or need. Gratitude opens your heart, makes your spirit smile and brings more good things into your life! Do what makes you feel happy and your spirit will be happy too!
  5. Begin paying attention to your surroundings: the plants, the animals, the clouds, the wind, the sea and the mountains. Connect with Life on the physical plane and be open to the Unseen
  6. Become a Pillar of Light. In this ‘intersection’ of Earthly and Heavenly energies, your spirit will flourish!
To finish…or to start?

Now, as I said at the beginning, it’s YOUR time! Let Courage in! You don’t have courage when you think you’ve got all the answers. Courage emerges in you when you are ready to bring to the light all those questions you have been avoiding during this time!

Are you ready? Or maybe…you already started your journey! I would love to hear your experience! I’m always here to hold your hand and help you out: claudia@purpleangelhealing.com.au

New Beginnings And The Natural Rhythm Of Life

Our lives are filled with exits and entrances, endings and beginnings – it is the natural rhythm of all life. Nothing is static – if it is then maybe it no longer has life!!

These times are filled with great opportunity but can also have sprinklings of both pain and joy. So what is going to help us navigate and celebrate these beginnings as we pass through doorways to the next adventure?

Recognise the birth pains that come with new beginnings. If we can see that the time of confusion and loss of direction that we sometimes experience is only the precursor to a magnificent new beginning, then we can relax. There can sometimes be a feeling like straining against a membrane with the feeling that there is something amazing on the other side.

Relaxing and allowing it to come is the only option here because exerting effort will only slow down the process.

Nature shows us the way here, as with no effort at all, its glorious springtime displays come after the barrenness of winter. No matter how crazy the weather appears there is still a rhythm to it and we know that cool days will soon give way to balmy warmth.

Seasons, tides and even our breath have a rhythm of contraction and expansion and so it is with our lives. Each new tide brings a new beginning filled with its promise to bring its waves onto the shore.

The moon which governs the watery depths of our seas and ourselves, puts on a wonderful display every month to remind us of this rhythm of beginnings. Linking ourselves to that rhythm of the moon means that we can celebrate the energy of each new moon and use it to energise our new projects and intentions.

Creating a ritual around the new moon is empowering as it helps us to get clear about our ideas and we all know how the universe loves clarity!

The sun provides the most wonderful daily display at sunrise and sunset of beginnings and endings. We know that the change of light is particularly potent for meditating and setting intention.

Many cultures have worshiped and celebrated the sun and its journey through the sky. While we watch the end of the day, we also see the beginning of the night and they continue to follow each other in this endless rhythm.

Seeing beginnings as part of the natural rhythm is essential. Celebrating this time of possibility with optimism and joy brings meaning to our lives and is part of how we connect in with each other.

Lighting candles, creating altars, using incense and oils, flowers and colours are some ways that we can mark new beginnings as auspicious times. Birthdays mark a new beginning every year and one which most of us celebrate with food, gifts and friends. All those big occasions in our lives, weddings, births, deaths, first day at work or school are all beginnings followed by periods of consolidation.

Acknowledging and embracing the beginnings in our lives brings richness and a sense of peace as we connect with the rhythm of all creation.

Creating Your Dream, Surrender To Your Own Mediocrity

We often can get bombarded with messages of how to create our dreams, ways to achieve greatness and be inspired and motivated by endless “aim high, dream big” quotes.

What if the answer to achieving our dreams lies in the acceptance of ourselves, in embracing humility.

An interesting concept for one that has always focused on setting high goals, visualising the outcome and doing things in bite sized chunks, holding onto the belief that all would manifest into greatness.

However, embracing our humility allows us to stop comparing ourselves to others; brings us back to the present moment and reduces any internal dialogue of needing to be something beyond who we are.

Knowing that when we are in the now, grateful for all that we are and allowing the full expression of this, that our true essence shines and allows for whatever is meant to happen, to occur.

Humility is not to say that you may not have your dreams, it does enable us to see both sides of the equation and in acknowledging where you are today, you also get to see that is exactly where you need to be.

To put our creative energy into being the full expression of ourself, and not someone else’s definition of success.

In Cheryl Strayed’s recent Super Soul video  “The Humble Journey to Greatness”, she shared a story of her yoga teacher at the age of four, and how most of the children who were mastering their yoga poses didn’t look anything like the teacher, and in the the words of her yoga teacher, she recalled:

“The goal is not to have the perfect pose, it is to reach for it”

When you sit with that quote, it may have a profound impact on where you are today.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What is your definition of success?
  • Do you often feel paralysed, your dream is so big, you don’t know where to start? Or even stop yourself doing anything, as a safe option, rather than risking a failure?
  • Who are you today? Do you know who you are, and is this something you embrace, or are you aiming beyond to where you want to be?

In your constant striving for the attainment of a dream, are you hindering your ability to create?

It does sound counter-intuitive, but aiming too high in attaining your dream, could also be your biggest obstacle; for we often become inspired and are energised, when we reach for our dreams. The balance is necessary however, when the projection and reaching beyond, has negated the actual appreciation, recognition and knowing where we are at now.

As Cheryl shares a quote from Flannery O’Connor:

“To know oneself is above all, to know what one lacks. It is to measure oneself against the truth, and not the other way, and the first product of self knowledge is humility”

Take a moment to breathe into that, and do a personal spot check – do you honour the true essence of you are, or do you bombard yourself with messages of greatness and what you are aspiring to be? And in doing so,  are you holding back the perfection of you, in your uniqueness.

Here is a few self reflective questions:

  • When you tap into your burning desire to create, what is emerging from you?
  • Are you allowing this to flow through you, without any judgements, expectations or external measurements?
  • Will you surrender to the idea of mediocrity?

And if you choose to do so, what will you fully embrace and create in this life, that would be totally and uniquely, you?

As Cheryl says, make good on your intentions – be who you are, and that is all you need to be!

Creating Your Reality

Can our thoughts and beliefs really affect our reality?

Well, let’s consider this concept for a moment and wonder what the possibilities are.

In our everyday life our brain and senses are bombarded by an enormous amount of information and different experiences. Say like me, you’re a working parent, you wake, you think about what your day involves, you prepare your kids breakfast, pack their lunches, wonder if they have their homework, sign permission notes, make sure they’re complying with the school uniform policy, get them out the door and in the car, ensure they’re buckled in safely, navigate the early morning traffic and drop them safely at school. Then as you continue on to work, you’re mentally preparing for your meetings and other daily responsibilities and it’s not even 9am. I won’t bore you with the rest of the daily agenda, but consider just how many things you need to think about before your day even really begins.

Do you wake up and jump out of bed with a spring in your step, ready to welcome and embrace the days opportunities or do you wake and try to steal another few moments in bed, avoiding the kids arguing over what cereal they want and who gets to sit in the front seat on the way to school?

It’s funny because there’s so many sayings like “well, look who woke up on the wrong side of the bed” or “I really shouldn’t have gotten out of bed this morning, I knew it was going to be a crap day and what do you know, it’s gone down hill since then!! The law of attraction can work both ways, depending on how you perceive things.

There most definitely are those amazing people that wake up, throw on their running gear and go for a run or walk on the beach, breathing in the crisp fresh air and witnessing that amazing and magical moment as the sun rises out of the ocean and pours it’s warmth and stunning light onto the world. And there most definitely are those amazing people that live each day as if it were Groundhog Day, those that feel stuck, that life is dull, grey, routine and not at all exciting. But the interesting thing is, that the morning was the same in both situations! It’s a universal truth that each day the sun will rise and as each evening approaches the sun will set.

So, why can two people that are in the same situation, experience things so completely differently? Well it all comes down to our own individual, Internal representation of that same information, and that is determined by what we each think and believe is important enough to actually take in, then our brain deciphers that information and links it to our previous experiences and feelings and encodes that interpretation to spit out a relevant response.

As a Kinesiologist and NLP Trainer, I’ve been very fortunate to witness how even the slightest change in our perception can affect a change in our reality. These changes can be as small as the language we use when we communicate with ourselves and others. How different does it sound if you listen to the weather report in the morning and they say “today is going to be 28 degrees and partly cloudy” compared to ” today is going to be 28 degrees and mostly sunny” wow!!! It’s exactly the same information, but the change in language elicits a different response.

What about, when someone asks you, how you are? Would your usual response be “not bad” how does that compare to “pretty good” or if they asked a favour from you, a common response is “No worries”, what would happen if it was replaced with “Sure, too easy”.

Our unconscious mind is marvellous, its main objective is to keep us safe and ensure that our bodily functions happen automatically without any real conscious effort, attention or interference. We don’t consciously tell our lungs when to breathe, our heart to beat or our stomach to process the food we’ve eaten. These functions all happen without our conscious input. But did you know that our unconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between what is real and what is imagined. TV shows, dreams, the images that are conjured when you read a book, meditations, video games and real life events are all processed equally. It doesn’t have a verbal language but rather processes all information visually, with pictures and symbols. It’s unable to process a negative word like “not” or “don’t” but rather encodes the word or sentence with an image and often, a feeling or experience.

So, when you hear “not bad” your unconscious mind focuses on the images & experience of “bad” and saying “no worries” will elicit an unconscious state of worry. Then what you’ll discover is that your energy levels & bodily functions will respond to that experience and as the prime directive of the unconscious mind is to serve and protect you, it will keep you in that state of reality. Amazing!! Right?? Did you ever consider how what you say and think could have such an impact of your life?

This is just scratching the surface of the unlimited potential that you are. When you learn to consciously be aware of the impact of your thoughts and beliefs, you realise that you’re in control, you’re the master of your own destiny. You’ll be able to go to the shopping centre with the clear belief that a car space will open up for you just at the right time. That life will provide opportunities for you. You’ll start to replace old belief systems with new and improved thoughts. That you are worthy of great relationships and a satisfying and well paid job, that you are valued and that all your actions are making a difference to your life and family! And yes, your life will change!! You will affect your reality! You will wake up one morning, take in that magical sunrise and see the world as completely different!! And the power of change is all within you, so go out there and make your dreams a reality!!

Creating A Soulful Intimate Connection

What is an intimate connection? Some would say it is the moment a man buys a woman a present and does not ask her what she wants; others would say it was when a woman puts a man and their children above herself; some will talk about a moment in their favourite movie; for others it would be the ultimate sacrifice for the one they love.

But creating a soulful intimate connection is more than what we do for each other, it is more than what we say and it is more than how we feel. Soulful connections, I feel, are about taking off the layers of yourself and showing your all. To be totally vulnerable with the one you love.

Easily said but how is it done? How do you hold your own fears in your heart and place them in someone else’s hand and hope they do not break it. It takes trust of on all levels. It takes responsibility for self, communication and the ability to challenge all that you have learned so far. This can be found in the practice of Tantra. I will share with you a three quick ways to create a connection with others.

Eye Gazing

You can see all you want to see in the eyes of another and the exercise of eye gazing is a great way of beginning a deep soulful intimate connection. Eye gazing allows for two souls to connect. Try it!

Sit across from another and softly look into their eyes and just wait, there will be a moment you connect and your souls will align. You usually find that your breathing aligns and all other thoughts disappear and you can sense your souls connect.

Heart to Heart Connection

Touching the heart of another in deep gaze is the next step in connecting in soulful intimacy. The heart to heart connection is a beautiful way to connect with another. Always be respectful; always ask permission, even if you are in a relationship. Use their name. Name, Can I touch you heart?

After they say yes, gently place your hand over their heart chakra. They too should ask you and they place their hand over your heart chakra. Sitting in silence, you send each other love in spirit, in mind and your heart. Feel the warmth; intimacy and love grow as the connection deepens.

What I appreciate about you

The art of gratitude is not a new concept and telling others what we see and appreciate is a great way to build intimate connections. This exercise is added to the two above to create a loving space between two people and our simple truths are told. It is a place to see the little things about the other and show them all appreciation.

I say to clients this could be as little as “I appreciate that every week you take the bins out and I never have to think of it”. Or the way they watch the children as they play in the yard, to the way they smile, laugh or the noise they make when they sleep. It opens the heart of the other as it shows that you see them, you see their efforts, you see their love or you appreciate the smallest things about them and they touch your heart.

Tantra is about creating deep intimate relationships but more than that Tantra, for me, is the recognition of another’s soul, a way of being that allows for intimacy and deep connections to infiltrate your life. You no longer need drama and judgement. It is a commitment of practices and a way of being that if embraced will change your life. I was taught to teach Tantra to couples and singles for their intimate relationships, however, I will say practicing Tantra can help in everyday life, it will create a space for love and healing in all relationships and it will, if practiced, create an unbreakable connection with you, others and the world.
